Australia has announced its squad for the ODI series against India and South Africa. The 18-member squad of the 5-time World champions has a plethora of all-rounders. The squad is also said to have players who are likely to play in the ODI World Cup in India. The clarity of thought of the Australian selectors is clearly visible in the selections.  

The Australian squad for the series against South Africa, India, and the ODI World Cup has the likes of Pat Cummins (C), Sean Abbott, Ashton Agar, Alex Carey, Nathan Ellis, Cameron Green, Aaron Hardie, Josh Hazlewood, Travis Head, Josh Inglis, Mitchell Marsh, Glenn Maxwell, Tanveer Sangha, Steve Smith, Mitchell Starc, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Zampa, and David Warner.

Pat Cummins is named the captain of the Australian team. Alex Carey is likely to keep wickets for the team with Josh Inglis as the backup. The bowling attack looks great with the likes of Mitchell Starc, Pat Cummins, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa, Nathan Ellis, Ashton Agar, Aaron Hardie, and Tanveer Sangha. The pace attack is fabulous and with variety, and so is the spin attack.  

The batting unit is great as well. The likes of David Warner, Mitchell Marsh, Travis Head, Cameron Green, Glenn Maxwell, Marcus Stoinis, and Alex Carey can fire with the bat. They all can bat around Steve Smith, who can anchor the innings and bat deep. Smith himself can score runs at a quick rate and has a great record in India in ODIs. The batters in the middle overs are multi-skilled ones.  

The likes of Glenn Maxwell, Mitchell Marsh, Cameron Green, Marcus Stoinis, and Travis Head can bowl. In the lower order, some bowlers can bat. The likes of Ashton Agar, Pat Cummins, and Mitchell Starc can bat. The squad is so versatile and full of options. The teams looking at the squad would be wondering at the terrific capabilities and options in the squad. On paper, Australia has a great squad and has all the features to be a top ODI side for the next few months.
