Veteran India wicket-keeper batter Wriddhiman Saha is having a great season for Gujarat Titans (GT) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. Saha was in stunning form and played a crucial role in GT's massive 56-run win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad on Sunday. The 38-year-old slammed 81 runs off 43 balls and built a solid opening partnership with Shubman Gill to help his team post a mammoth total of 227 in 20 overs.

However, apart from his blistering knock, Saha also caught the eye for a hilarious incident that took place during the break before the second innings. The defending champions tried to substitute KS Bharat as the wicketkeeper instead of Saha during the LSG's batting innings, but the umpires denied it. As a result, Saha had to rush back to the field, wearing his trousers the other way around.

It was a funny moment for cricket fans, and even Hardik Pandya, Mohammed Shami, and Quinton de Kock couldn't stop laughing as it was caught on camera. Meanwhile, the IPL shared a video of a post-match interaction between Bharat and Saha, in which the latter explains the reason behind the incident.

"I told the umpires that you are having the needling session, but they didn't allow me to keep", said Bharat.

"I was eating my food and the physio said I need to take my medicine too. So I had to wear my pants in a hurry and it was worn the other way around. After two overs I returned and you did a wonderful job", the opening batter revealed.

Shubman-Saha 100+ partnership set the tone for GT's huge win

Asked to bat first, Saha and Shubman put on 142 runs for the first wicket and gave the hosts a flying start. Saha departed in the 13th over for 81, with four maximums and 10 boundaries, but Gill continued the attack with skipper Hardik Pandya and David Miller. The 23-year-old missed out on a deserved maiden IPL century by six runs but won the Player of the Match for his stunning knock.

Chasing a target of 228 runs, Kyle Mayers and Quinton de Kock gave them a decent start. But a superb comeback from GT bowlers made the game look one-sided as they won by 56 runs. Mohit Sharma grabbed four wickets and led the way in destroying the LSG batting unit.
