Roman Reigns is set to go up against Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Universal Championship. Reigns joined the American professional wrestling promotion company in 2010 and has had a few nicknames since then, but the the 37-year-old is most popular for his current gimmick 'Tribal Chief'. Let's take a look at why Roman Reigns is called 'The Tribal Chief'.
The American professional wrestler's run as a babyface in WWE did not go as planned by the global integrated media and entertainment company. In 2018, Reigns announced that he had been diagnosed with leukemia again, ending his run as a babyface in WWE. He was out of action for four months and returned to competition as a heel.
Reigns, a member of the Samoan family, indigenous Polynesian people of the Samoan Islands who speak the Samoan language, aim was to be acknowledged as the Samoan Tribe’s ‘Head of The Table’. This led to him competing against Jey Uso in a 'Hell in a Cell' match, with the former winning the battle. This not only gave Reigns a win over The Usos, but also led Samoans to acknowledge him as the ‘Tribal Chief’.
Major Bloodline member could turn heel at the WrestleMania
Ever since Reigns' win over Jey Uso, the Bloodline, a villainous professional wrestling stable, has been on the top. WrestleMania is just around the corner and the recent development in its storyline has created huge anticipation within the fans. There are also chances that a major Bloodline member might turn heel at the mega battle.
Solo Sikoa, one of the members of Bloodline, faced Cody Rhodes in a singles match on WWE Raw recently. Sikoa, who was in an undefeated streak before the match, was defeated by Rhodes. The 30-year-old was there whenever the family needed him, however, no one was by his side when needed. This might prompt Sikoa to go up against The Bloodline at WrestleMania 39 as all the other members of the renowned Anoa'i family has a match planned at WrestleMania 39, not for him.
