On a Green looking pitch at Chattogram which offered some bounce, India and Bangladesh clashed again in the second Test at Dhaka. Bangladesh won the toss and opted to bat. India made one change; Unadkat came in for Kuldeep Yadav. For Bangladesh, Moninul Haque and Taskin Ahmed came in.
Zakir Hasan could not replicate his form in the first Test as he fell cheaply to Jaydev Unadkat who got him, Unadkat was playing a Test match after 12 years. Najmul Hossain Shanto was looking good, but he was dismissed leg before wicket by Ashwin on 24.
The star of the show for Bangladesh was Mominul Haque who made a majestic 84 off 157 balls with 12 fours and 1 six. Shakib Al Hasan could not get a big score as he departed for just 16 when he was dismissed by Umesh Yadav which was the first ball after lunch. Mushfiqur Rahim and Litton Das made 26 and 25 respectively. They were dismissed by Unadkat and Ashwin respectively. Then Umesh Yadav came back in the end to polish off the lower order. They were 213-5 at one stage and collapsed for just 227.
He picked up the wickets of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, Nurul Hasan and Taskin Ahmed. Ashwin was in his element as well after he came back to form and picked up 4-71 after having a lukewarm performance in the first Test where he picked up just one wicket across two innings.
It was a wonderful Test match for Unadkat as his years of hard work and toil have finally paid off by him getting a test recall. He last played a Test in 2010. This is a big example of how dreams come true and it is always better late than never. Umesh Yadav showed how good he was in subcontinental conditions and proved his worth with the ball.
Bangladesh will feel that they could not convert their start with the bat as the batters got in and got starts but could not convert them. The only exception being Mominul. He played well for his 84 but could not get a big score. India proved that they were the superior side with the ball.
When India had to come back and bat for a short period. It was testing times for Shubman Gill and KL Rahul who successfully weathered the storm He also survived a close lbw shout by taking a review.. Twitter was abuzz, let us take a look at the reactions here -
Our batters' ineptitude against left arm spin makes our spinners look ordinary. #INDvBAN

Shakib is such a canny customer as a bowler. For me, he is as good a bowler as Vettori. #INDvBAN
Am I the only one who thinks @y_umesh is the best seamer for Asian pitches. #Impressive #INDvBAN
