The tussle between Indian Cricket Board and Pakistan Cricket Board sees no end in near future. Pakistan's hosting rights for the Asia Cup later this year is the major issue between these two boards. After Asian Cricket Council’s meeting failed in Bahrain the decision for the venue of the Asia Cup has been postponed till March 2023. It was also reported that some countries will seek government approval for playing in Pakistan.
Now, PCB has released a statement on the issue stating that not a single member nation raised this issue in the ACC meeting. PCB statement reads, "The PCB wishes to clarify no such matters were raised in the meeting, nor did any member indicate any intention to seek government clearance for playing in Pakistan".
"Sri Lanka has recently visited Pakistan in 2017 and 2019, while Bangladesh has toured Pakistan in 2020. In the 2023-2027 Future Tours Programme (FTP), which has been agreed upon and announced by all members, Afghanistan, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka have confirmed their tours to Pakistan”, PCB further added.
PCB threatens India to boycott 2023 World Cup
Earlier PCB chief Najam Sethi threatened that if India doesn’t come for Asia Cup in Pakistan they will boycott the 50-over World Cup in India. According to the sources in the ACC meeting, PCB chief Najam Sethi told that Pakistan wants to host the Asia Cup and if it was pulled out then they will avoid participating in the 50-over World Cup in India. Sethi's comments are on similar lines as his predecessor Ramiz Raja.
Notably, Pakistan was allocated to organize Asia Cup in September this year but in October 2022, Jay Shah the secretary of the Indian Cricket control board said that India will not tour Pakistan for the Asia Cup and it will be shifted. Shah is also chief of the Asian Cricket Council.

"Aata hai roti ke liye...", Fans troll PCB's decision
After PCB's threat to boycott the 50-over World Cup in India, fans troll the Pakistan cricket board for their threats. Taking a dig at PCB a fan wrote on Twitter, "Atta hai roti dene keliye jo team jayenge... Electricity hai AC keliye.. onion hai curry keliye ?"
