James Neesham has been hitting the headlines for a while now. The New Zealand all-rounder always gives his best, be it with the bat, ball or on Twitter. The 32-year-old is known for his wit off the field and grit on the field. Neesham recently hit the headlines for rejecting New Zealand’s central contract.

James Neesham turned 32 on Saturday and several people wished the all-rounder on his birthday. However, a cricket website had a twist in it as the birthday post involved Suryakumar Yadav’s name too. For the unversed, the Indian batter stands first in the list of players with the highest strike rate in the shortest format of the game.

The Indian batter tops the list with a strike rate of 173.29. James Neesham with a strike rate of 165.84, stands second on the list. “His T20I batting strike rate of 165.84 is only bettered by Suryakumar Yadav among players from full member nations. Happy birthday to hard-hitting New Zealand all-rounder, @JimmyNeesh!” ESPNCricinfo tweeted.

James Neesham’s hilarious reply

James Neesham replied in his own way as he called out Suryakumar Yadav and questioned him cheekily. “Why’d you have to ruin a great tweet @surya_14kumar ???,” he tweeted in reply to the original Tweet.

This is not the first time that the Kiwi all-rounder has hit the headlines with his tweet. Just a few days ago, he took a sly dig at the Rajasthan franchise from the Indian T20 League when one of his fans questioned his records in the league.

He clarified that he didn't attack anyone with the tweet. But fans understood that he did take a dig at the franchise. “why don’t you perform in Indian T20 League like you perform in International games…” the fan asked the player on Twitter.

James Neesham, who is known for his wit replied that he had been playing only one game a year in the league. “I probably wouldn’t perform well in international cricket either if I played one game a year,” he replied to the fan.

James Neesham would hope to give his best in the shortest format of the game for the Black Caps. On the other hand, his fans would also hope for him to keep the witty Tweets coming.
