Fans witnessed a dramatic finish at Emirates Stadium on Friday, April 21, as Arsenal came from behind against Southampton to secure a vital point in the Premier League. The visitors were hoping to win with a two-goal lead, but the current table-toppers levelled it 3-3 in the final minutes of the game. This is Arsenal's third consecutive draw, and it remains to be seen how damaging this point drop will be to their title chances.

Mikel Arteta's side have had a great run in the tournament but have drawn 2-2, 2-2 and 3-3 in their last three games against Liverpool, West Ham and Southampton respectively. This lowered their chances of winning the English football league and gave Manchester City an advantage. City, who are now second in the table, trail Arsenal by just five points.

Skipper Odegaard and Saka help Arsenal rescue a point in dying minutes

Arsenal made a bad start to the game, conceding a goal within the first minute due to goalkeeper Aaron Ramsdale's carelessness. The English international passed the ball straight to Carlos Alcaraz, who curled the ball into the far post to put Southampton ahead early. After 14 minutes, former Arsenal player Theo Walcott tucked in Alcaraz's pass to make it 2-0.

Gabriel Martinelli scored in the 20th minute off an assist from Bukayo Saka, giving the hosts breathing room. After making the scoreboard 2-1, Arsenal put in a great effort to ensure they didn't concede another goal in the first half. However, Southampton added another to their account, scoring from a corner to make it 3-1.

When it appeared that the hosts would lose the game, Skipper Martin Odegaard scored a beautiful curler from the edge of the box in the 88th minute to make it 3-2. Bukayo Saka then levelled the game in the 90th minute, saving the Gunners from an embarrassing defeat.

The two top teams will face each other on Wednesday and it will be crucial for both teams in their quest to lift the title. Both City and Arsenal can win the title if they win all their remaining fixtures.
