Indian all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja has said that he has moved on from the Indian T20 League controversy that took place in the recently concluded season of the league. Jadeja was announced as the Captain of the Chennai Franchise ahead of the 15th season of the league. But the season didn’t go well for the star-allrounder as the team finished on the second-last spot.
Jadeja’s form was also put under scrutiny both with the bat and the ball. The franchise was forced to give the captaincy back to MS Dhoni, who revealed that the pressure of captaincy had affected Jadeja. Speaking at the press conference after the second day of the ongoing fifth Test against England, Jadeja said that he has moved on from the incident and his focus is now on performing well for India.
“What happened, happened. IPL was not on my mind. Whenever you are playing for India, your entire focus needs to be on the Indian team. It was the same for me, there is no better satisfaction than performing well for India,” he said.
Jadeja scored a magnificent 104 and guided the team to a safe score after the team was reeling at 98/5 on Day 1. This was his 3rd Test hundred and first outside India.
"It feels really good to do it outside India, especially in England. To hit a 100 as a player is a really big thing. I can really take some confidence in myself as a player from this, to score a 100 in England especially in swinging conditions, so yeah it feels really good," the all-rounder said.
Jadeja further threw light on the improved performance of India’s tailenders with the bat.
"Our 9, 10 and 11 do plenty of batting practice. Our team management ensures they work on their batting at practice. It is a nice feeling when the 9,10 and 11 score the runs because it is a bonus for the team.
Whenever Bumrah bats in the nets he takes it seriously. It is not like when he bats he has a casual approach, he puts a price on his wicket. The last 40-50 runs he scored along with others is a bonus," the world’s number one Test all-rounder concluded.
