Sri Lanka managed to win the second Test match against Pakistan by a massive 246 runs on Thursday. The Island nation came back harder on the fifth day to defeat Pakistan as their middle order collapsed in pursuit of a massive chase. They were bowled out for 261 runs on the final day of the Test. Babar Azam held the ground all alone and was dismissed for a fighting knock of 81 runs.
They were 176/3, at one stage, and then collapsed to 261/10 in no time. False shots and poor choices led to the team’s defeat. Sri Lanka, on the other hand, was exceptional on the final day of play. Having struggled to pick wickets yesterday, they managed to struck vital breakthroughs and bundle the team out.
Fawad Alam was dismissed for just one run. Agha Salman and Muhammad Nawaz made 4 and 12 runs respectively. Yasir Shah scored 25 runs off 27 balls with wickets tumbling around on the other end. Babar Azam was dismissed for 81 runs and the hopes faded away for Pakistan after that. Naseem Shah made a decent contribution as a tail-ender with 18 runs to his name.
Angelo Mathews played his 100th Test match and would be happy that it ended in a win. Prabath Jayasuriya was magnificent as he picked up a five-wicket haul. Ramesh Mendis backed him up well with a four-for. Jayasuriya was adjourned the “Player of the Series”. Dhananjaya de Silva bagged the “Man of the Match” award for his match-winning century.
Babar Azam looked the only one batter who showed intent out there. He stood his ground till the end and tried his best. However, with wickets falling on the other end, the road only got tougher for him. His 81 was appreciated by cricket fans all around the world. The batter is in exceptional form and manages to score a fifty every other match.
With this win, Sri Lanka managed to draw the series 1-1 after their humiliating loss in the first Test. This Test win will be etched in their hearts forever. They will look to carry forward the momentum further and climb up the Test rankings.

Would have loved to Prabath Jayasuriya at Bengaluru's Turner earlier this year against India. His debut was two matches too late, looks very impressive#SLvPAK
