The Caribbean Premier League 2022 has ended with Jamaica Tallawahs clinching the title in style. Speaking of the toss, Barbados Royals’ skipper called it right at the toss and elected to bat first. One might have to agree that Kyle Mayers would have given thought if he had a chance to change his decision as the match did not go exactly as planned. 

Talking about the Royals’ batting, the skipper and Rahkeem Cornwall opened the innings. Barbados Royals enjoyed a great powerplay as they managed to amass 63 runs for the loss of one wicket during the first six overs. However, post the powerplay, the Royals started falling apart. 

At the end of sixteen overs, Barbados Royals remained at 129 for the loss of three wickets. The death overs turned out to be a nightmare for the team as they managed to score only 32 runs and lost four wickets in between. At the end of the first innings, Barbados Royals managed to score 161 for the loss of seven wickets. 

Jamaica Tallawahs are the champions of the Caribbean Premier League 2022

The chase turned out to be a valiant one from Jamaica Tallawahs. The Tallawahs batters looked in a menacing touch and every ball turned out to be a glory. The batters looked firm with the intent to make history for the team. 

During the powerplay, Jamaica Tallawahs managed to score 41 for the loss of one wicket. However, Brandon King and Shamarh Brooks made it through in the middle overs. The duo put on a valuable partnership and kept the Tallawahs in the title race. Jamaica Tallawahs has been the team to beat in the current edition and reasonably so, as they have made a stunning comeback. 

No one would have guessed that the team that lost five matches in the group stage would win the tournament. However, the Rovman Powell-led team made a stunning comeback in the tournament. It was all about Jamaica Tallawahs as they emerged the winners of the league. The team chased down the target of 161 with eight wickets under their belt.
