The Indian team is taking on Sri Lanka on Tuesday in their second game of the Super-Four stage. The game is being played at Colombo and both the teams need a win to make it to the Asia Cup final.

Rohit Sharma won the toss and chose to bat first, Shardul Thakur was replaced by Axar Patel in the XI. Sri Lanka, the defending champions, went in with the same team that played against Bangladesh.

Sri Lanka found a new hero in the form of 20-year-old left-arm spinner Dunith Wellalage. The youngster had the Indians caught in a spin of the web as he brought his team storming back into the contest.

Dunith Wellalage leaves India reeling –

Rohit Sharma and Shubman Gill had given India another great start. The two openers added 80 runs for the first wicket in just 11 overs. Dasun Shanaka then got his young left-arm spinner into the attack.

Dunith Wellalage soon made an impact when he had the wicket of Gill with his very first ball. The youngster left his Indian counterpart awestruck as the ball turned a great deal to dismiss Gill for 19.

Centurion from the last game Virat Kohli was the next man out when he chipped a catch to Dasun Shanaka for 3. The young left-arm spinner then had the big wicket of skipper Rohit Sharma bowled for 53.

Wellalage wasn’t done, the 20-year-old had KL Rahul out caught and bowled for 39 to claim India’s first four wickets. KL Rahul was looking good for yet another big score.  That’s when the ball stopped and turned and the batter was out caught and bowled.

Earlier Rohit Sharma yet again gave his team a great start as he scored his 2nd successive half century. Rohit Sharma scored a half-century against Pakistan in the last game on Sunday. The 36-year-old went past 10,000 ODI runs and became the 2nd fastest batter to achieve the feat. Rohit scored his 53 off 48 balls with 7 fours and 2 sixes.

Shubman Gill was looking good as he scored 19 runs off 25 balls with the help of 2 fours. Ishan Kishan and KL Rahul then added 63 runs for the 4th wicket in nearly 15 overs of watchful batting.
