'Wedding shoot done' - Memes all over as Rohit Sharma, Babar Azam pose together ahead of 20-20 World Cup

The 20-20 World Cup 2022 is set to get underway on October 16, Sunday in Australia and the team captains greeted each other as they gathered for a press conference on Saturday. However, the Cricket’s governing body's social media team posted photos taken after the press meet only to get trolled back in return. 

In one of the photos uploaded on social media, Rohit Sharma was seen laughing with Babar Azam, and fans could not keep calm watching it. The cricket fans on Twitter hit back saying that it looked more like a wedding shoot and not a ‘Captain’s day’ photoshoot. Apart from funny tweets, fans also came up with memes and added more colour to the humour club. 

For the unversed, India will take on Pakistan in their first match of the showpiece event on October 23 in Melbourne. The Rohit-led team won one of their practice matches against Western Australia while they lost the other.

In the press conference, the Indian skipper opined on the high-voltage clash and said that he knows the importance of the game. Further, the opener said that there was no point in talking about the face-off all the time and added that it only creates pressure on the players. 

“We understand the importance of the game (India vs Pakistan). But there is no point in talking about it all the time and creating that pressure within yourself,” said Rohit in the press conference. 

“Whenever we (India and Pakistan) players meet, when we met at the Asia Cup, we talk about our families, ask about what's happening in our homes. That's all. From the interactions that I have had with Babar's teammates, we talk about such stuff only,” he added. 

The last time the two teams faced in the Super 4 round of the Asia Cup was in September, and Pakistan won the game. Albeit the Men in Blue won against the rivals in the group stage, the intent went missing in the Super 4 stage which many believed to be the cause of the team’s failure.
