In the ongoing Asia Cup India and Pakistan will square off for the second time on Sunday. Rain at Pallekele last week forced the cancellation of the India vs. Pakistan group stage match, which resulted in a point each for each team. The focus will be on the rain when India and Pakistan clash once more, this time in Colombo at the R. Premadasa Stadium. The Asian Cricket Council (ACC) added a reserve day for the highly anticipated match between India and Pakistan on Friday.
"A reserve day has been incorporated for the Asia Cup 2023 Super 4's match between India and Pakistan scheduled to take place on 10th September at Premadasa International Cricket Stadium in Colombo. If adverse weather suspends play during the Pak vs India game, the match will continue on 11th September 2023 from the point it was suspended," the ACC said in a statement.
A clear sunny day on Sri Lanka vs Bangladesh match
The Coaches and management of Sri Lanka and Bangladesh are unhappy with the decision, as ACC has given reserve day only for India and Pakistan as it generates more revenue for the broadcasters. As curiosity builds for the highly anticipated match between India and Sri Lanka weather conditions are casting a shadow over the fixture as the forecast predicts as rain could play spoilsport on both, the game day as well as the reserve day.
As per Weather reports there is a 90-100 percent chance of rain in Colombo on Sunday, with thunderstorms. On the reserve day, there is a 90 percent chance of rain, along with thunderstorms. Even rain is predicted for today’s match, however there is clear sunny weather as of now in the match between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh with no rain interruptions. Fans will hope to be the same on the match day of India and Pakistan as well. Meanwhile, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh will clash on September 9 in the same venue for their Super Four clash.
