The schedule for the ODI World Cup 2023, the 13th edition of the reputed tournament, was recently released by the governing body of the sport. Ten venues – Ahmedabad, Delhi, Dharamshala, Kolkata, Mumbai, Pune, Bengaluru, Hyderabad, Chennai, and Lucknow will host 48 matches in the tournament located in different parts of India. The tournament will start on October 5 with the inaugural match between the two finalists of the 2019 ODI World Cup, England and New Zealand.  

The world’s biggest cricket stadium in Ahmedabad, Sri Narendra Modi stadium, with a seating capacity of 1,32,000 spectators, is set to host the inaugural match, the final, and the big match between India and Pakistan on 15th October later this year. Over the years, the rivalry between India and Pakistan has been unmatchable. The game between the two teams in any Cricket tournament always attracts a mammoth crowd. 

Hotel prices skyrocketed in Ahmedabad for India vs Pak match on  October 15th  

After the schedule for the big tournament got released, the 5-star hotels were in huge demand for the fans. Some hotels in Ahmedabad have increased the pricing of their rooms, taking advantage of the situation. Many hotels have been fully booked already on the 15th of October, ahead of Ind vs Pak game. Five-star hotels like ITC Narmada, Courtyard by Marriott, Hyatt, and Taj Skyline Ahmedabad are reportedly booked completely on 15th October due to the unparalleled demand.  

According to Booking.com, the ITC hotel that was charging INR 5699 per day is now charging INR 71999 per day on 15th October, which is an increase in the pricing by 12.6 times. Renaissance Hotel, which usually charges around INR 8000 per day, is charging INR 90679 on October 15th, which is an increase of pricing by 11.3 times. Likewise, the Cama Hotel has increased its rent from INR 3000 on normal days to INR 27233. Some hotels have hiked their prices to over INR 1 lakh per day.
