Cameron Green, the Australian allrounder, was picked up by the Mumbai franchise for a whopping INR 17.5 crore, with the franchise strengthening its bases on batting and bowling. With the right-handed proving his prowess during the T20I and ODI series earlier against the Men in Blue in October, it remains to be seen if the star player can replicate the same in the T20 tournament.

Opening up on the same, Green said that he was pinching himself after going for a huge amount in the Indian T20 League. Further, the Australian allrounder said that it would be great to work with a team like Mumbai, who have already proved their prowess in the reputed league.

“Obviously, I’m pinching myself. I think joining such a great team in Mumbai, we obviously got such a history, all the past players that have played for them, and how great they are and how good the team is at the moment," Green was quoted as saying to Star Sports.

We’ve got so much talent: Cameron Green

Highlighting the talent in India, Green said that it was delightful to be a part of the team and play in the country, alongside star batters Suryakumar Yadav, Rohit Sharma and Jasprit Bumrah.

“I think you can look through all the players, playing with them, Rohit, Bumrah, Suryakumar Yadav to name a few. Yeah, having Tim David, and Jason Behrendorff also from Australia, so I’m so excited,” Green was quoted as saying. “We’ve got so much talent that you can learn from them and improve your own game. I loved my time in India for the two weeks then, so I’m happy I’m going to come back and be playing with the Mumbai,” he added.

“We have been following and tracking Cameron Green for the last two-three years and with his recent performances, we thought that he is exactly what we needed. We were looking for a younger player and he fits the right age profile for us,” said Aakash Ambani, the owner of the franchise on picking the talented player.
