The England Cricket Team have been exhibiting stellar performance across formats for some years now. Fans weren’t happy with their performance in Test Cricket but the arrival of Ben Stokes as the captain changed things around in red-ball cricket as well.

It won’t be wrong to say that England are enjoying one of the best periods in their cricketing history. In 2019, England Cricket Team won their first-ever 50-over World Cup under the leadership of Eoin Morgan.

They were nothing short of outstanding in the 20-20 World Cup 2021 but went down to New Zealand in the semi-final. However, Jos Buttler and Co. ensured they reach the final of the 20-20 World Cup next year and beat Pakistan to lift the trophy.

Riding on a sensational match-winning knock from Ben Stokes, England beat Pakistan by 5 wickets in the final of the 20-20 World Cup 2022 to win their second 20-20 World Cup title. England’s next target would be to win their second 50-over World Cup, slated to be played next year in India.

Amidst that, England’s Barmy Army fan page tried to take a dig at the Indian Cricket fans on Twitter. They posted a collage of England winning the 2019 and 2022 editions of the World Cup and wrote,

“Astonishing the amount of Indian cricket fans in our mentions. We only do big trophies not PayTMS”.

However, the fans, instead, trolled Barmy Army back by bombarding the post with witty comments.

One of the Indian fans reminded England of the number of trophies India have won in their cricketing history. Another highlighted the number of years it took them to win a World Cup despite being the one who invented the sport. One of the Twitter users also uploaded a screenshot of the scorecard of ongoing England vs Australia match.
