India skipper Rohit Sharma was presented with a special memento at the Ceat Cricket Rating Award 2023, it was also given as a good luck gesture before the ODI World Cup 2023, which is set to begin on October 5. The company has given several awards to different players like Bhuvneshwar Kumar, Brendon McCullum, Shubman Gill, Shafali Varma, Deepti Sharma, New Zealand pacer Tim Southee, former Australia batter Matthew Hayden, and batting legend Sunil Gavaskar. 

Speaking of the Indian team, Sharma along with chief selector Ajit Agarkar announced 17 member squad for the Asia Cup 2023, Hardik Pandya is made deputy of the India skipper in this continental championship. KL Rahul and Shreyas Iyer are returning to the squad after recovering from their injuries, Mumbai Indians prodigy Tilak Varma find his name in the squad, while pacer Jasprit Bumrah and Prasidh Krishna returned to the ODI squad after almost a gap of a year. It is pertinent to mention that the Indian team will be playing their most anticipated game against Pakistan on September 2 in Sri Lanka.

Whereas the other notable award was presented to Shubman Gill as he bagged the CEAT ODI Batter of the Year award and Suryakumar Yadav was presented with the CEAT T20I Batter of the Year award, for their outstanding performances in a one-year cycle, 2022-2023. Surya also bagged the International Cricketer of the Year award, and New Zealand star batter Kane Williamson was presented with the Test Cricketer of the Year award. 

The other notable winners were Bhuvneshwar Kumar who bagged the CEAT T20 Bowler of the Year award, while England’s Test cricket Head Coach Brendon McCullum was presented with the CEAT Innovated Coach of the Year award and Indian Women cricketer Deepti Sharma bagged the CEAT Women’s Cricketer of the Year reward.
