Yusuf Pathan, the former Indian batter, is giving it a go in the ongoing International League T20 and one could understand that the batter is enjoying his outing in the highly-competitive tournament. On January 28, Saturday, Dubai Capitals squared off against Desert Vipers and it was the latter who came out on top on the day.
To the delight of Indian fans, Yusuf Pathan played a stupendous knock although it came in a losing cause during the chase. To add more to the innings, chasing a target of 150, the Capitals were reeling at 85/5 when the right-handed batter came into the crease. When fans thought that the Capitals might succumb way earlier, Pathan played a great-hearted 26-ball 35 and brought the team closer to the target.

Slightly jetlagged still at the moment: Adam Zampa
As far as the match is concerned, it was Rovman Powell-led team who won the toss and elected to field first on the day. Much to the surprise of their bowlers, the Vipers batters managed to put on a defendable total on the board despite losing wickets in regular intervals, with Colin Munro top-scoring with his 40.
It was Pathan who lifted the Capitals from the hiccup during the chase, although it was the Vipers who won the game in the end despite the former’s heroics. As far as the bowling is concerned, the Australian spinner Adam Zampa played a critical role in restricting the Vipers to a lesser total in the first innings with his three-for for the Capitals.
“Good to be here. Slightly jetlagged still at the moment, but good to be here. We're used to that now. Coming to these new environments and trying to fit in. I've played in the UAE quite a bit actually,” Zampa was quoted as saying after winning the Player of the Match award in the post-match presentation.
“Have found a formula that I try to stick to. We needed to get some wickets in the middle to make a game of it. We're in the must-win zone now. This was an important game and it slipped through our fingers,” he added.
