The fifth game of the Asia Cup 2022 between Sri Lanka and Bangladesh turned out to be an edge-of-the-seat thriller, and it came down to the end overs. The pendulum swung constantly between the two sides. In the end, both teams fought to the finish, but a series of errors made by the Bangladeshi bowling group cost them the match and also a place in the Super Four stage of the Asia Cup as Sri Lanka emerged victorious by two wickets and sealed their passage to the Super Four.

It was a game of ebbs and flows for all those who watched it, especially the Sri Lankan and Bangladeshi supporters. The crowd was on its feet during the death overs as the pendulum continuously swung.  There were Wickets, no-balls, and boundaries- the final overs were exciting to watch. But there was one little fan, who was spotted crying right after Bangladesh lost the game.

It was an emotional moment for the Bangladeshi fans at the stadium as they were on the wrong side of the encounter when they lost by a whisker, and a young kid was spotted crying while his mother was seen consoling him. The young kid was wearing the Bangladesh jersey and was passionately supporting the side, but he was in tears and broke down when the match ended.

Sri Lanka win a thriller against Bangladesh

The island nation won a very close contest against the Bangla tigers when they got to the target of 183 against Bangladesh by 2 wickets. Vital contributions were provided by Kusal Mendis and Dasun Shanaka, who scored 60 and 45 respectively in a tense chase and the result was determined on the second ball of the 19th over in the most anticlimactic fashion.

Sri Lanka got to the victory of a no-ball and they celebrated with great energy because they had orchestrated a dramatic turnaround after their poor performance against Afghanistan.
