Tabraiz Shamsi, the South African spinner, went unsold in the Indian T20 League mini-auction for the 2023 edition and the Proteas star will be a part of the Paarl Royals squad for the inaugural edition of the SA20 league. Much to the surprise of the Indian fans, Shamsi took a direct dig at the Indian spinner Yuzvendra Chahal and warned that the batter would not be able to bat ahead of him ever.
For the unversed, both were a part of the Rajasthan franchise dressing room, although in two different editions and the South African team revealed their jersey for the inaugural tournament on January 6, Friday. The Indian spinner is known for his active interaction with fans on social media and the Royals released the video on Saturday, leaving fans awaiting a reply from Chahal. “Hello Yuzi, this is the all-rounder from South Africa speaking. You'll never ever ever bat ahead of me. Ever,” Shamsi said in the video released by the Royals team.

Will franchises miss Tabraiz Shamsi in Indian T20 League 2023?
Much to the dolefulness of the player, Shamsi went unsold in the 2023 mini-auction and fans claimed that it was a miss, considering the impact he could make, in the shortest format of the game in specific. Keeping the base price at INR 1 crore, no teams came forward to place a bid, letting him go unsold.
Given that he is one of the trusted spinners when it comes to the shortest format of the game, fans were shocked that even the Rajasthan franchise let him go, given that the same think tank roped him in for the South African league. Chahal, on the other hand, will continue his stint in the Indian T20 League with the Rajasthan franchise and would look to carry on with the stint.
The likes of Sam Curran, Harry Brook, Ben Stokes and Nicholas Pooran found massive bids with the left-arm pacer going for a whopping INR 18.5 Crore to the Punjab franchise, leaving millions of fans who followed the auction on the day in splits.
