One of the greatest Tennis players of all time, Novak Djokovic is on his way to creating history at Wimbledon 2023. In the grass court season, the Serbian has been at his usual best, decimating the opponents for fun. The 36-year-old has not lost a Wimbledon final since 2018. It looks like beating Djokovic in Wimbledon is close to impossible at the moment.
In the ongoing tournament, Djokovic is aiming for a record 24th Grand Slam title. In the semifinal of the men’s singles event, the defending champion faced eighth seed Jannik Sinner and defeated him in straight sets. As a result, Novak entered the fifth consecutive Wimbledon final.
Despite being a champion player, Djokovic never gets support from the crowd. In every major tournament, the crowd likes to support Djokovic's opponent. It was the same case in the semifinal of Wimbledon, as the crowd on the Centre Court was in full support of the Italian athlete. The crowd booed Djokovic whenever he got points.

Novak Djokovic's sarcastic gesture to the crowd
In one such incident, as Djokovic prepared to serve during the 10th game of the third set, the audience began to applaud Sinner. Djokovic took a step back, clapped at one of the spectators, gave the thumbs up, and sarcastically responded to the audience. The fans booed Djokovic more while he was celebrating his victory. The crowd's response came from the world number two, who made a fake weep gesture.
Earlier in the tournament, the champion athlete had spoken about the lack of support he has received all his life. “They’re doing me a favor. The more they root against me, the better off I am. With me, they wake up to something they might not want to see – a winner. As a player, you want to have the majority of the audience on your side. I don’t want to play in a belligerent atmosphere. However, that’s how it is in most matches in my career, that they cheer for the other.” Djokovic had said after his second-round match. The crowd proved the Serbian right yet again.
