On Day 1 of the second Test in Trinidad, while Virat Kohli was on his way to his 29th Test century, the stump mic caught a brief interaction between the former India captain and West Indies wicket-keeper Joshua Da Silva. The Windies player revealed that his mother is a huge fan of Kohli and was on her way to the stadium only to watch him play. A day after the intriguing stump mic chatter, his mother met the legendary batter, and the heartwarming moment won the hearts of millions.

"My mom called me and told me she’s coming to watch the match for Virat Kohli, I couldn’t believe it,” the stump mic caught Joshua as saying on Thursday.

His mother was present at the stadium on Friday (July 21), and she witnessed her favourite batter smash his 29th Test century. Kohli's sensational 121 off 206 balls helped India post a massive first-innings total of 438.

At the end of Day 2's play, De Silva's mother met Kohli outside the Team India bus and the cricketer was pleasantly surprised to see his special fan. Excited, she couldn't contain her emotions and didn't hesitate to show it by hugging and kissing Kohli's cheek. She also took a photo with the right-handed batter before he returned to the team bus.

I hope my son emulates him: Joshua Da Silva's mother

Later, while talking about the emotional moment with the Indian cricketer, Da Silva's mother was seen in tears. "Kohli is one of the best batsmen in our lifetime. So it is an honour for me to meet him and my son to be on the same field as him," she is heard saying in the video.

“I told Joshua that I was coming to this game just to see Virat Kohli and not him because I see him every day. That was the first time I met Virat Kohli and he was wonderful as he is - a beautiful, blessed human being. He is so talented and I hope my son emulates him,” she added.

In reply to India's 438, the Windies' batter started strongly with both the openers playing the new ball well. The hosts will resume Day 3 on 86 with captain Kraigg Brathwaite on 37* and Kirk McKenzie on 14*.
