West Indies legend Brian Lara was seen catching up with Team India players ahead of the second and final Test, which will begin on July 20 at Port of Spain, Trinidad. Having won the first game by an innings and 141 runs, the upcoming contest will be crucial for India to seal the series. Windies, on the other hand, will want to level the series to avoid a disappointing start to their 2023-25 World Test Championship.
The video, which was shared on Twitter by the Indian Cricket Board, began with Virat Kohli approaching Lara, who was on the phone. As soon as the left-handed batter noticed Kohli, he extended his arm and shook hands with the former India captain. Later in the video, Lara is seen talking to Indian head coach Rahul Dravid, all-rounder Ravindra Jadeja and wicket-keeper batter KS Bharath.
Bowling all-rounder Shardul Thakur, pacer Mohammad Siraj, vice-captain Ajinkya Rahane and Ruturaj Gaikwad also met with 'The Prince of Trinidad'. The video ended with a short conversation between the legendary batter and Indian captain Rohit Sharma. The two exchanged handshakes before leaving with a warm smile.

Can Lara help West Indies bounce back in the second Test?
Lara was appointed as a performance mentor ahead of the multi-format series against India. He was the head coach of Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023. According to the Cricket West Indies (CWI), the 54-year-old's responsibility will be to “assist the various head coaches in providing players with tactical advice and improving their game sense.”
Windies are in desperate need of a comeback following their tragic setback in the World Cup qualifiers. The two-time ODI World Cup champions suffered a hat-trick of defeats in the Super Six stage of the qualifiers and will not feature in the mega event for the first time in 48 years.
Lara and his team will now be aiming to win to level the Test series against India and maintain the winning momentum in the following three-match ODI series and five-match T20I series. Meanwhile, the second Test will be a huge milestone for Kohli as it will be his 500th international match.
