WATCH: Virat Kohli sweats out in nets ahead Asia Cup 2023 final against Sri Lanka

The Indian Cricket Team is just 24 hours from playing the final of the 2023 Asia Cup at Colombo. The massive game will have India taking on defending champions Sri Lanka in front of a capacity crowd. The game is of importance to both teams with the 2023 World Cup coming up.

One player who will be keenly watched is none other than former India skipper Virat Kohli. The 34-year-old wasn’t part of the Indian team that played Bangladesh on Friday. The Indian team had made five changes to the side as they lost the game by 6 runs despite a century by Shubman Gill.

Virat Kohli getting into battle mode

While the Indian team was facing off Bangladesh, Virat Kohli was not ready to let a golden chance go. The former Indian skipper was seen in the nets sweating it out as he was seen batting.

The former India skipper can be seen batting in a short eight-second clip which is doing the rounds on Twitter. The sweet sound of the bat hitting the ball will surely have each and every fan excited.

Virat Kohli made headlines during The Asia Cup 2023 recently. The right-handed batter scored his 13,000^th run in the game against Pakistan. The record was more special as Virat Kohli became the fastest player to get to the landmark. His 122 not out was also his 47^th ODI century.

Colombo has been a happy hunting ground for Virat Kohli. His rare failure came against Sri Lanka on Tuesday where he was out for just 3 runs. In the previous 4 innings, Virat Kohli had scored 4 centuries in succession. Three came against Sri Lanka with one against Pakistan.

There is bad news for the Indian team as Axar Patel is injured before the Asia Cup final. The left-arm spinner is suffering from a host of injuries as per sources from the Indian cricket board. Washington Sundar has been flown to Sri Lanka as a replacement for Axar Patel.

One source from the Indian Cricket Board said “Axar is currently suffering from multiple injuries. He has hurt his little finger, got hit on forearm by a throw from deep and most importantly has developed a hamstring niggle. So Washington has been called”

Axar Patel picked one wicket and scored 42 runs in India’s 6 run loss to Bangladesh on Friday. He is also part of the Indian squad for the ODI World Cup 2023 which starts in a few weeks.
