Royal Challengers Bangalore registered their second win in the ongoing Indian Premier League (IPL) by beating Delhi Capitals by 23 runs at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium on Saturday, April 15. Virat Kohli's brilliant half-century and impressive bowling performance while defending an average score handed DC their fifth consecutive defeat in the tournament. However, a controversial moment after the match has taken over the internet when the former RCB skipper and Sourav Ganguly walked past each other without shaking hands.
Kohli and DC's Director of Cricket, Ganguly, had an internal dispute when the latter was the president of the Indian Cricket Board and the former was the captain of the Indian team. There were rumours that Kohli stepped down as captain due to severe pressure from the board, which was fueled when former selection chairman Chetan Sharma disclosed intimate secrets during a Zee News sting operation.
However, it is understood that Kohli is still angry with the former Indian cricketer for the politics he has engaged in with him in the past. While both teams were supposed to shake hands after the game, the two refused, with Kohli even ignoring the legendary cricketer.

Kohli and pacers shone in RCB's win over DC
Talking about the match, RCB were asked to bat first, and Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis got the team off to a great start. However, after their captain was dismissed in the fifth over, the rest of the batters failed to make an impact. Glenn Maxwell and Mahipal Lomror tried to form a partnership with Kohli (50 off 34 balls) but were thwarted by the Delhi spinners. However, their contributions, together with Kohli and Shahbaz Ahmed’s quickfire 20 runs off 12 balls, helped RCB post a respectable total of 174 runs.
Defending an average total, their bowlers, who are often criticized for not stepping up, got them off to a flying start, with Mohammed Siraj and Wayne Parnell doing the majority of the damage in the powerplay. Capitals were reduced to 2/3 in the third over and they fond ways to pick up wickets in the regular intervals. Debutant Vijaykumar Vyshak was the highlight in the second half, bowling a stunning spell to dismiss dangerous David Warner and in-form Axar Patel.
