India grabbed a 1-0 lead in the three-match ODI series against West Indies after winning the first match by five wickets at the Kensington Oval in Barbados on Thursday. The hosts suffered a batting collapse in the first innings as they were bowled out for 114 runs in 23 overs. The Men in Blue could have crushed the opposition but the Windies bowlers put up a tough fight in the chase as they claimed five wickets in the process.
Rohit Sharma and Co., however, started their ODI World Cup preparations on a positive note. With the marquee event fast approaching, the 50-over series is crucial for India to find the right players at the right spot and polish their batting prowess. Meanwhile, as Team India sweated it out in the nets ahead of the series opener, a hilarious video of Virat Kohli and Hardik Pandya has gone viral on social media.
Kohli and Pandya have often been part of fun moments and this was seen again during a training session ahead of the first ODI in Barbados. The former India captain faced a medium-fast delivery wide off stump from Pandya and drove it away with a powerful swing of his bat. But it was not Kohli's strike that caught the attention of the fans, but his gesture after the shot.
Pandya was seen staring at Kohli and the right-handed batter responded with a playful dancing gesture as the bowler turned back to return to his bowling mark. Kohli teased the all-rounder by signalling a boundary in a most funny way. Fans were delighted to see the camaraderie between the two senior Indian players.

India's experiment in batting order did not go as expected
India experimented with their batting order in the first ODI against the West Indies, as they had to chase a mere total of 115 in 50 overs. It was Ishan Kishan who opened the innings with Shubman Gill, while Suryakumar Yadav batted at No. 3. Rohit demoted himself to No. 7 while Virat Kohli didn't even come out to bat.
However, the visitors' attempt to give the youngsters a chance did not go as expected as they lost five wickets in the chase. Kishan smashed a crucial fifty when wickets kept falling at the other end. Meanwhile, Gill and Yadav continued their struggle to find form. Pandya came in at No. 4 but could not contribute much on the scoreboard as he was dismissed for 5 off 7 balls.
