India and Sri Lanka competed against each other in the second ODI held at Eden Gardens, Kolkata on January 12, Thursday and Rohit Sharma’s men won the game with 4 wickets to spare with KL Rahul helping the team taste the win with his 103-ball 64. With Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav starring with the ball with their three-fors, the Indian team managed to restrict Sri Lanka to just 215 in the first innings.
Virat Kohli, the Indian superstar, had a poor outing with the bat as he contributed a mere 4 runs to the scoreboard when the Men in Blue were chasing a mere target. The Indians were restricted to 86/4 in no time, with Hardik Pandya and Rahul joining hands with each other to put on a 75-run stand for the 5th wicket and rescue the team.
Eventually, Kohli celebrated the win with wicketkeeper Ishan Kishan and the video of the same is now going viral on the internet, with fans claiming that there would be no short of entertainment when the Indian batter is on the flow, be it on the field or off the field.

We had to build an innings under pressure: Rohit Sharma
Post the conclusion of the game, the Indian skipper Rohit said that it was important to back Rahul at Number 5 as it gives the much-needed depth to the Indian batting line-up. Further, Rohit admitted that it was a close game and hoped to carry on with the form in the final contest of the series before moving on to the series against New Zealand.
“It was a close game but games like these teach you a lost. We had to build an innings under pressure. KL has been batting at five for a long period of time now and it gives us the depth. Gives you the confidence as well at the top of the order for us to go and bat freely. It was a good display of batsmanship,” Rohit was quoted as saying during the post-match presentation.
