Virat Kohli has been on the rise since the Asia Cup in 2022. He scored 122 of 61 balls against Afghanistan in the multilateral tournament. He has been on the rise and got back his form from that tournament. He was the second-highest run scorer in the tournament.

In five matches in the continental tournament, Kohli scored 276 runs from five matches. At an average of 92 and a strike rate of 147.59. He showed the world glimpses of his old self and continued his form into the 20-20 World Cup in Australia.

The run machine showed the world what they had missed when he scored a superlative unbeaten 82 against Pakistan, which helped India win against Pakistan off the last ball.

Kohli had got out for 9 off 15 balls against Bangladesh

He played an ODI after a long gap against Bangladesh and he could not get going with the bat as he was dismissed for 9 off 15 balls and was sent back due to a spectacular piece of fielding by Litton Das. Though it was not his day with the bat, he made up for it with a superb catch in the field to dismiss Shakib Al Hasan.

Here is the video

It was a flighted delivery from Washington Sundar. Shakib is deceived in the air, the ball dips and he is not able to control the drive. He hits it uppishly towards cover where Kohli flings to his right and takes the catch from thin air with one hand. This was another Kohli special in the field. It happened in the third ball of the 23rd over.

Kohli has not scored a century in ODIs since 2019. The run machine for India will be looking to get into the groove in ODIs. He has been a prolific scorer for India in the format and will want to be in top-notch form in the build-up to the 2023 World Cup that will be held on home soil in India since 2011.
