In what was a big accusation by Bangladesh’s wicketkeeper batter Nurul Hasan, who said on November 2, Wednesday, that the umpires have let fly under the radar an incident of 'fake fielding' from Virat Kohli which happened after Bangladesh’s 5-run defeat to India.
The incident seemingly was not noticed by the umpires on the field who were Marais Erasmus and Chris Brown. The incident happened in the seventh over of the Bangladesh innings where Kohli faked a throw as if he was relaying Arshdeep Singh’s throw in the outfield.

If you are talking about sportsman spirit then was it against the spirit of the game what Virat Kohli did? He was like hit the ball and tell the umpire to give a No Ball, was the umpire sleeping? Another example of sportsman spirit 👇 fake fielding! pic.twitter.com/wURSjWJ5Hc

The fake throw was not noticed: Nurul Hasan
The wicketkeeper batter said that if Bangladesh had gotten the penalty for the fake throw then the situation would have been different. Interestingly India eked out a five-run win which was the exact number of runs that would have been awarded the penalty.
Here is what Nurul had to say on the incident, "Certainly the field was wet and it had an impact and everyone saw that and eventually what I felt is that when we were talking there was a fake throw and it could have been a five run penalty and that could have gone our way but unfortunately even that didn't come," Nurul told the press.
It was a game of two halves for the Bangla Tigers as they scored 66 for no loss in seven overs and then the momentum shifted to India after the rain break as Bangladesh could only muster 79 runs for the fall of six wickets in the next nine overs. India eventually emerged winners in the last ball of the rain-curtailed encounter which was reduced to 16 overs.
