As legendary cricketer MS Dhoni turns 42 on Friday (July 7), the celebrations are not just restricted to his family and friends; it is also a special day for his millions of fans across the world. Social media is flooded with pictures and videos of one of the most successful captains in the history of cricket, as fans demonstrate their love and admiration for 'Thala' in every possible way.

Meanwhile, some lucky fans got a chance to meet the wicketkeeper on his birthday. A video of an admirer gifting Dhoni a birthday special artwork is currently circulating on social media. The former Indian captain was delighted by the fan's lovely gesture as he took a closer look at the art. Some fans were heard chanting Dhoni's name, and the right-handed batter looked at them and waved.

Cricket fraternity pours birthday wishes for 'Captain Cool'

Birthday wishes have been pouring in for Dhoni from the cricketing fraternity. Former cricketers, his teammates, current cricketers and experts have all sent their wishes to the charismatic leader. Meanwhile, Indian wicketkeeper-batter Rishabh Pant, who is currently undergoing rehabilitation after a car accident, celebrated his idol's birthday by cutting a cake.

Pant shared a couple of photos of cutting the cake on his Instagram account with the following caption: "Happy birthday Mahi bhai 💕 aap toh ho nhi pass aapke liye cake cut leta hun mai. Happy birthday ❤️"

Ambati Rayudu, who recently retired from all forms of cricket, posted a heartfelt tweet for Dhoni: “Wishing the legend and the greatest ever to play the sport a very happy birthday! May each and every one of our great country have the honour and the privilege of experiencing your leadership firsthand someday in every aspect of life… greatest leader!!”
