The 2023 season of the Indian Premier League (IPL) has reached its business end as only two more matches remain to determine the champions of its 16th edition. The craze for the cash-rich league will be doubled among fans as the match pits the five-time champions Mumbai Indians (MI), the four-time champions Chennai Super Kings (CSK), and the defending champions Gujarat Titans (GT). However, the fans who went to collect tickets for the matches at the world's biggest cricket stadium were surely in for a horrible experience.
The Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad will host Qualifier 2 between MI and GT on Friday, the winners of which will take on CSK in the final on May 28 (Sunday) at the same venue. Pictures and videos of the chaotic rush of fans outside the stadium due to mismanagement by the Indian Cricket Board have been doing the rounds on social media, with many people sharing their similar experiences.

Will we see 'EL Classico' of IPL in the Final?
MI had a poor start to their campaign but regained momentum from the halfway stage and registered a thumping 81-run win over Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in the Eliminator to qualify for Qualifier 2. Rohit Sharma and Co are just one win away from entering the final, and if that happens, we will be witnessing another ‘El Clasico’ of the IPL, this time in a summit clash. However, GT have the home ground advantage and have a good record at Motera and beating them will not be an easy task for MI.
Earlier, CSK advanced to the final after beating GT in Qualifier 1 by 15 runs at the Chepauk Stadium. This will be CSK’s 10th IPL final – the most by any team in the league’s history. The MS Dhoni-led side have lost three of them against MI in 2013, 2015 and 2019. Meanwhile, the Mumbai-based franchise has reached the grand finale six times and won five times. MI also has a better head-to-head record against CSK, having won 20 of their 36 encounters.
