Team India had a fun drill during the training session ahead of the Test Championship final at The Oval from June 7.

Team India is gearing up to face Australia in the Test Championship final at The Oval on June 7. The first batch, which included Head Coach Rahul Dravid, Virat Kohli, Ravichandran Ashwin, Axar Patel, Shardul Thakur, Mohammad Siraj, Umesh Yadav, and other coaching staff, landed in England a few days ago. Amid preparations for the ultimate Test, the players decided to have an enjoyable session on Friday.

In a video shared by the Indian Cricket Board, Shardul Thakur, Axar Patel, Umesh Yadav and two staff members can be seen having a fun drill which also helps the players improve their close-range catching skills. They form a circle and then simultaneously throw the balls across.

Prize money for Test Championship 2021-23 cycle revealed

Meanwhile, the Cricket Governing Body announced the prize money for the Test Championship 2021-23 cycle on Friday. Nine teams will share a total of $3.8 million (Rs 31.4 crore), with the champions getting a whopping amount of $1.6 million (Rs 13 crore) and the runners-up receiving $800,000 (Rs 6.5 crore).

“There is no change in the tournament prize money, which remains the same as that for the inaugural edition of the championship (2019-21) with a total purse of $3.8 million (Rs 13.22 crore approx.)," the governing body said in a release.

"South Africa earning $450,000 for finishing third in the ICC World Test Championship 2021-23 standings. England, who made a late surge and finished their campaign in fourth spot, will bag $350,000."

"Sri Lanka, who were among the top teams in the race for a spot in the decider during the epic finale, finished fifth to earn $200,000. The remaining teams New Zealand (No.6), Pakistan (No.7), West Indies (No.8), and Bangladesh (No.9) will be rewarded with a sum of $100,000 each," the statement added.
