India bounced back strongly in the 20-20 World Cup 2022 as the Men in Blue beat Bangladesh by 5 runs to win a thriller at Adelaide. Virat Kohli rose to the occasion once again and scored 64 runs off 44 balls to take India to a substantial total of 184-6 at the end of their 20 overs.

In the second innings, Litton Das started on a wonderful note for Bangladesh as he scored 60 off just 27 balls which helped the Bangla tigers to score 66 for no loss in just seven overs. But it went pear-shaped for Bangladesh as they lost six wickets for 79 runs post the rain break. India were the victors in the end.

This happened in the second innings of the match

It was at this juncture that Suryakumar Yadav made a heartwarming gesture to the spectators. He took two catches in the second innings and also scored a handy 30 off just 16 balls with four boundaries. He was not done as he went towards the long off boundary and put his hands on his ears to indicate that he was not able to hear due to the high levels of noise generated by the fans.

He also pointed to the word ‘India’ printed on his jersey and indicated that he was very happy to don the jersey and it is an honour to play cricket and represent the country. Suryakumar also recently became the number one ranked T20I batter.

He has had a wonderful career in the shortest format so far. He has scored 1209 runs in the last year in 38 matches at an average of 40.30 and a strike rate of 177.27. He has 11 half centuries and one century to boot. His strong points are that he has more than one shot at a ball and that he scores all around the ground with a wide range of shots.

KL Rahul also came back to form after a brief lull as he scored a quickfire fifty at the top of the order off just 32 balls with three fours and four sixes which gave India a good start after the early loss of Rohit Sharma.
