Watch: Shubman Gill defends Rishabh Pant over his recent episode with Urvashi Rautela

Rishabh Pant and Urvashi Rautela's controversy took social media by storm recently and made many headlines. It all began when the Bollywood actress talked about ‘Mr. RP’ during an interview with Bollywood Hungama.

In the interview, Urvashi said ‘Mr. RP’ waited for the actress for a long time in vain to meet at an event in New Delhi. He also left too many missed calls, and after that, both of them started replying to each other with cryptic messages on social media.

Pant responded to Urvashi with a social media post saying, "It's funny how people lie in interviews just for some meagre popularity and for hitting the headlines. Sad how some people are so thirsty for fame and name. May God bless them. MerapichachorhoBehen #Jhutkibhilimithotihai." 

In response to Pant’s post, Urvashi posted an Instagram story that read, “Chotu bhaiyaa should play bat ball. Main koyi munni nahi hoon badnam hone with young kiddo darling tere liyee #Rakshabandhan Mubarak ho #RPChotuBhaiyya #Cougarhunter #donttakeadvantageofasilentgirl #love #UrvashiRautela #UR1."

‘He does not even care’: Shubman Gill

Shubman Gill opens about the controversy in an interview and said that she couldn’t divert Pant’s mind, he doesn’t have any interest in it and also said that she wants someone to make fun of her.

"There is nothing from Rishabh Pant's side. He doesn't get distracted by her activities. Actually, Urvashi wants someone to tease her."Gill said on Dil Diyan Gallan show hosted by Sonam Bajwa.

Recently Rishabh was seen starting the inning as an opener with Ishan Kishan but couldn’t deliver a good start to the team and got out for only 6 runs in 13 balls to Lockie Ferguson. Gill was rested for the second T20I match, he will be hoping for an opportunity in the third and final match of the three-match T20I series against New Zealand. Rishabh and Gill will also share the dressing room in the ODI series against the Kiwis. Shikhar Dhawan will be leading the ODI squad in the absence of Rohit Sharma.
