The Caribbean Premier League 2023 season has been witnessing some amazing action so far. While the men’s tournament has been producing amazing cricket, the women’s cricketers aren’t far behind.
Guyana Amazon Warriors women’s team took on Trinbago Knight Riders on Tuesday at Port of Spain. The team Guyana went on to win the game by 21 runs to occupy second place in the three-team tournament.
Indian youngster Shreyanka Patil has been turning heads with her performances. The 21-year-old was recently in the news recently. Patil had picked 4 wickets in the game against Barbados Royals recently.

Trinbago Knight Riders were chasing 133 and the Guyana bowlers keeping things tight. Young Shreyanka Patil had already picked the wicket of Mignon Du Preez for 8. The young Indian then bowled perhaps the ball of the tournament.
Shreyanka Patil was bowling to Britney Cooper and got the ball to turn in a long way. Cooper was batting on five when Patil got the ball to spin as Cooper went for a cut. The ball cut back in sharply as Cooper was beaten for the turn and bowled by Shreyanka Patil.

Batting first, Guyana Amazon Warriors women were bowled out for 132 from 19.5 overs. The top scorer for Guyana was Sophie Devine with 48 runs from 39 balls with 4 fours and a six. Suzie Bates scored 16, while Captain Stephanie Taylor scored 32.
Anisa Mohammad and Marie Kelly picked four wickets each for Trinbago Knight Riders. The duo managed to bowl out Guyana for 132 after being 106 for 2 at one stage. The last wickets fell for a mere 26. Patil with the bat scored only three runs from four balls.
Chasing 133 to win, none of the Trinbago Knight Riders managed to get going. The top scorer was skipper Deandra Dottin who scored 35 off 19 balls with 4 fours and 2 sixes. Marie Kelly scored 16 at the top, while Kycia Knight scored 19 while batting at number 3.
Shreyanka Patil picked 2/15 from her four overs while Shabnam Ismail, Sophie Devine, and Karishma Ramharack picked two wickets as well. Guyana won the game by 21 runs.
