The Men in Green did not have the greatest of starts as they had back-to-back losses against India and Zimbabwe by four wickets and by one run respectively. Then they launched a stunning comeback by winning four matches on the trot to make it to their second 20-20 World Cup final since 2009.
Ahead of the 20-20 World Cup Final 2022. Shoaib Akhtar had some words of guidance for the Pakistan team on how to beat England Pakistan will be hoping for a repeat of 1992 when they lifted their first 50-over World Cup title here in Australia. “You have to bring your A game. Don’t give any opportunity to England. It is going to be a tough final. I think Pakistan’s batting has started performing, wickets have settled and bowlers have regained their fitness. I hope nobody is favourite in this team. Whoever plays well, will win. Nobody was favourite in this tournament. Pakistan team was nowhere and now they are in the final, so we do not have anything to lose and have everything to win," Akhtar said in a video he put out on Twitter.
Pakistan lost their first two matches of the 20-20 World Cup 2022
While Pakistan were looking down in the dumps and were going to miss the bus for qualifying for the semis of the showpiece event at one stage came back through wonderful performances from Shaheen Afridi, Mohammad Rizwan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Harris, and Shadab Khan who were architects of the resurrection for the Men in Green.
England on the other hand will be looking to repeat their 2010 heroics to clinch a second 20-20 title since they won their first in 2010 in the Caribbean. They have been in roaring form and have swatted India in the semi-final by crushing them by 10 wickets.
