Desert Vipers and Sharjah Warriors clashed against each other in the 4th match of the International League T20, 2023. The Warriors lost their first game of the tournament, but for the Vipers, it was their first match. The Moeen Ali-led team set a target of 146 runs for the opponent.
Meanwhile, in the 5th over of the innings, the ball slipped out of Sheldon Cottrell's hand and went high and wide, outside the pitch and Kohler-Cadmore took it on the full and smashed it towards deep extra cover as the ball almost went the distance. The boundary was not counted as the on-field umpire declared it a dead ball, and the no ball at the same time.

Brilliant comeback by Joe Denly and Mohammad Nabi
Talking about the match, the Vipers won the toss and invited the Warriors to put runs on the scoreboard. Their decision of bowling first proved right as they dismissed the Warriors’ 5 batters on the score of just 68 runs under 11 overs. Few of the Warriors batters got off to decent starts, but none were able to kick on in the initial half of the innings.
The Desert Vipers have done well to restrict Sharjah Warriors below the 150-run mark. Joe Denly walked out to bat and made a crucial contribution to take the Warriors to a respectable total. Denly played a responsible inning of 36 runs off 33 balls which included only 3 fours and no sixes.
Mohammad Nabi too hit a few lusty hits the final over as the Warriors got over the 140-run mark. He smashed 34 runs off just 23 deliveries which included 1 four and 2 maximums. He smashed 17 runs in the last over of the innings and stitched a beautiful partnership of 77 runs with Denly for the sixth wicket. Vipers’ bowlers performed really well. Tymal Mills took 1 wicket and conceded only 11 runs in the 3 overs he bowled. Tom Curran also picked 1 wicket and conceded 36 runs in his 4 overs quota.
