Shakib Al Hasan has done many wonders for his teams with his bowling and batting and is currently one of the best allrounders in the world. But the Bangladesh star is often in the news for his negative attitude and behaviour both on and off the field. Shakib has on many occasions been seen fighting with the umpires over unfavourable decisions. Recently, a video of Shakib losing control and hitting a fan amid high security, surrounded by hundreds of people, went viral on social media.

Shakib has made headlines for his outstanding performances, but on the other hand, his behavioural issues on and off the field have made him a controversial figure in the cricketing fraternity. The latest incident is no different as he was seen hitting the fan several times with his hat. The captain of the Bangladesh Test and T20 team was in Chattogram for a promotional event where a large number of people turned up to see their favourite cricketer.

Bangladesh beat England to take 1-0 lead in three-match T20I series

Shakib was last seen in cricket action for his national team in the first T20I of the three-match series against England. Under his leadership, Bangladesh defeated Jos Butler's side by six wickets at the Zahoor Ahmed Chaudhary Stadium in Chattogram. Captain Butler scored 67 runs and gave the bowlers a respectable total to defend. But in response, Bengal Tigers' teamwork saw the visitors through. Najmul Hossain Shanto's 51 off 30 balls and Shakib's 34 off 24 balls eased the chase for the hosts.

Shanto was named the player of the match for his brilliant half-century to take his team a 1-0 lead against the World Champions. Shakib also excelled in his bowling as he recorded impressive figures of 1/26 in four overs.

Speaking after his team's win, Shakib said: “In T20s, when you don't think too much, you perform well. That's the environment we are trying to create in the dressing room. Hopefully, we can continue this. This is a very good start. If you think about 2024, we'll be playing the World Cup in West Indies. We can build on from here. We can only get better so that we can put a very good team when the World Cup comes.”

The next action is in Dhaka where England beat the hosts 1-2 in the 3-match ODI series.
