Former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi and his son-in-law Shaheen Shah Afridi share a special bond with each other. While Afridi is regarded as one of the greatest players in cricket history, Shaheen is now recognised as one of the world's most lethal fast bowlers.

Shaheen's marriage with Afridi's daughter was a sensational topic at that time and now the duo is back in the media spotlight after an interview with a private news channel.

During a chat with Samaa TV, the former Pakistan all-rounder has warned Shaheen for calling him "sasur" (father-in-law) in public. "Sasur, mai tumhare muh se ye dubara na sunu (I don’t want to hear this word from your mouth again)," Shahid Afridi told Shaheen.

The 23-year-old Shaheen currently plays for his national team in all formats and is also the captain of Pakistan Super League (PSL) franchise Lahore Qalandars. Meanwhile, Afridi, who announced his retirement from international cricket a few years back, is enjoying his time playing Legends League Cricket (LLC).

The 46-year-old told Shaheen not to call him father-in-law because he had recently won a cricket trophy. Afridi was part of Asia Lions, who defeated India Maharajas by 9 runs in the LLC final.

"He has won PSL with Lahore Qalandars. Next day, I won the Legends League Cricket trophy in Qatar,” Afridi said.

Shaheen, who made his ODI debut for Pakistan on 21 September 2018, shared his experience of bowling against Afridi in the PSL five years ago. Shaheen also shared what type of relationship he shares with the Pakistan legend.

"He is my role model. He has been the inspiration for me. I have enjoyed Lala’s batting, I used to switch off TV when he used to get out. Ye mere hero hai. He is like my friend,” said Shaheen.

"Never thought I would become a family member. When I played against him it was a dream come true feeling for me. I took his wicket,” he added.
