Indian skipper Rohit Sharma is always known for his wit and quick humour. His responses during interactions with journalists during press conferences always make for a fun time for everyone. The Indian skipper was at it once again after India's dominant win over Sri Lanka in the Asia Cup 2023 Final.

During the post-match press conference of the Asia Cup 2023, Rohit was in the middle of answering a question when the noise of firecrackers in the background interrupted him. However, the opener, in his usual jovial manner, responded hilariously. "Are World Cup jeetne ke baad phodo yaar (Burst the crackers after we win the World Cup)," he hilariously said. His response left everyone present in the conference in splits and the video has been doing rounds on the internet.

In the meantime, on September 17, India won the Asia Cup 2023 by defeating Sri Lanka by a margin of 10 wickets in Colombo. Rohit Sharma won this title for the second time as captain.

They bowled first, limiting the Lankans to 50 runs in 15.2 overs before chasing the target down in 6.1 overs. Mohammed Siraj was named Player of the Match for his incredible six-wicket haul.

The Indian skipper was very pleased with the efforts of his bowling unit and heaped praises on them. “It was a great performance, especially to come and play like that in a final. Shows the mentality of the team. Our seamers are actually working really hard for many years, so it’s pleasing for the side to see them rewarded like that. Very clinical. A performance like that will be cherished for a very long time,” he said during the post-match presentation.

The Men in Blue now eye the ODI World Cup 2023, which is slated to begin on the 5th of November at home. India has not won a major world title since 2013, and will look to change that this time.
