Rohit Sharma is back to lead Team India in the upcoming T20I series against West Indies. The Indian team will play five T20Is against West Indies starting today. In a video uploaded by the Indian Cricket Board, Rohit Sharma can be seen practising hard in the nets.
For the unversed, Rohit Sharma rested for the ODI series against West Indies and Shikhar Dhawan led the Indian team to victory. Also, he became the first captain to whitewash West Indies in ODIs in West Indies.
Rohit is now all set to take on the stage in the T20I series. In the video, he played two cover drives, one back foot defence, a flick, a straight drive and his trademark pull shot in the nets. He seems to be in fine touch and looks set to open the innings for the team.

KL Rahul was in contention to open along with him. However, the batter missed out as he tested positive for Covid-19. Sanju Samson has replaced KL Rahul in the T20I squad and will look forward to making the best use of it. The Indian team look to make this an opportunity to iron out their flaws in the lead-up to the highly anticipated 20-20 World Cup to be held in Australia.
The Indian squad is jam-packed with aggressive players like Sanju Samson, Rishabh Pant, Rohit Sharma, and Suryakumar Yadav. Ravi Ashwin has made his way back into the squad. Ishan Kishan will try to make a mark if he gets an opportunity.
India will play T20Is on July 29, August 1, 2, 6 and 7. The first T20I will be played at Brian Lara Stadium, Tarouba, Trinidad. The second and third T20Is will be played at Warner Park Basseterre, St Kitts. Central Broward Park Lauderhill, Florida will host the fourth and final T20Is.
Arshdeep Singh might look to impress, once again, with his classy spells. Ravi Bishnoi will try to make a mark. The Indian pace attack looks decently strong with the experience of Bhuvneshwar Kumar. Harshal Patel and Avesh Khan will look to continue their momentum.
