The first ODI between India and Bangladesh was a cliffhanger as Bangladesh won the match by just one wicket. Bangladesh got home due to the brilliance of Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who scored a superlative 38 off 39 balls with four fours and two sixes.

India managed to reduce Bangladesh to 136-9 in 39.3 overs while defending a below-par total of 186. In the 42nd over, a massive moment in the game took place. Mehidy Hasan mistimed a ball which went to the third Man region.

Washington Sundar was fielding at that position and everyone expected him to take the catch. However, the Indian all-rounder didn't even attempt the catch let alone taking it. Skipper Rohit Sharma was bemused at Sundar for not taking the catch.

He was seen expressing his frustration at Sundar by hurling some harsh expletives at the Tamil Nadu player. In a video that has gone viral, the Indian skipper was heard saying, "B****C***. The dropped catch from Sundar turned out to be the turning point of the match as India lost the game in the end.

Bangladesh ended up beating India in an ODI for the first time in eight years. This win for the Bangla Tigers was similar to a World Cup victory that they had in 2011 against England where they skittled England for just 225 and then Shafiul Islam and Mahmudullah Riyad chased the runs down in the 49th over to give Bangladesh a famous two-wicket win.

Outstanding innings from Mehidy- Litton Das

"Very happy. I was very nervous sitting in the dressing room. I enjoyed Mehidy's batting in the last 6-7 overs. Siraj and Shardul bowled very well in the middle overs and shifted the momentum towards their side. When me and Shakib were batting we thought we could chase this easily, but it got difficult after we both got out and India bowled really well. Outstanding innings from Mehidy."Litton Das said after the game ended.

India will only have themselves to blame after losing a match from a winning position. They will have to lick their deep wounds and come back stronger with better tactics. The third ODI is scheduled to be played on 7th December.
