In the first T20I against West Indies, a chaotic situation happened as Yuzvendra Chahal went to bat when India required 10 runs in 5 balls to chase. The event unfolded in a manner that Kuldeep Yadav was clean bowled by West Indies pacer Romario Shepherd in the last over, and as per sequence, Chahal came out to bat, but team management wanted to send Mukesh Kumar to bat at No. 10.
At last, Hardik Pandya and co. were not able to send Mukesh as Chahal made it all the way to the pitch, and according to the rule, he had to bat until being dismissed. Although India lost the game by four runs. As per the cricketing laws, the batter once he steps on the field can not go back until he is dismissed. Interestingly, there is not any statistical evidence present to prove that if Kumar was sent ahead of Chahal, the right-arm pacer could have scored the required run. But one thing Indian management could have avoided was this chaos.
Here is the viral video:

West Indies prevail India in first T20I
The leg spinner took on the first ball and got off with a single, then Arshdeep Singh was not able to hit boundaries on the next two balls and later got run out in the second last ball of the over. Ultimately, in the last ball, with six runs required, Mukesh managed a single. The West Indies stopped the Indian side for 145/9 in 20 overs, as the home side won the game by four runs.
Speaking of the tour, the Indian side won the Test match series by 1-0 and the ODI series by 2-1. On one occasion in a 50-over format series, the Indian side was criticized when they lost the second ODI, but now, after losing the first T20I, the Men in Blue are getting criticized. The Indian side will surely be looking to experiment with the youngsters in their squad, keeping the ODI World Cup 2023 in mind. Now for the second T20I, India takes on the West Indies at Providence Stadium, Guyana, on August 6.
