Star Indian youngster, Rinku Singh smashed three consecutive sixes in Uttar Pradesh (UP) T20 league, as Meerut Mavericks beat Kashi Rudras in a super-over thriller. It has been almost four months since Rinku had his fame and glory moment in the Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023 with five consecutive sixes in the last over to win the game against Gujarat Titans (GT).

It is pertinent to mention that, the left-handed batter played his debut game for Team India in the recently concluded Ireland series. The 25-year-old won his first Player of the Match award in his debut series in the second T20I, where he blasted 38 runs off 21 balls against Ireland. The left-handed is known for his stroke-making abilities and chasing difficult targets in the slogovers of the game.

Speaking of the UP T20 League, Singh showed his stroke-making abilities, he was in the crease when 17 runs were required in the super over, and Rinku Singh smashed three sixes off Shiva Singh's bowling.

Speaking of the game, the Meerut-based side batted first and posted 181 runs for the loss of seven wickets in 20 overs of the game, as Madhav Kaushik scored 87 (52). In reply, the Kashi-based side ended with the same total with seven wickets lost. Karan Sharma and Shivam Bansal scored 58 (44) and 57 (41). However, in the super over, Rudra smashed 16 runs against Yogendra Doyla's bowling. Rinku didn’t trouble the score-card much in the first innings as he was dismissed on 15 (22).  However, in the super over, Singh took strike for the Meerut side and finished the game in four balls when 18 runs were required.

The opening season of the UPT20 league is scheduled from August 30 to September 16.  The tournament is set to have 33 games in the span of these days, played at the iconic Green Park Stadium in Kanpur. The six teams that are participating in the inaugural edition of UP’s T20 league are Kanpur Superstars, Kashi Rudras, Gorakhpur Lions, Lucknow Falcons, Noida Super Kings, and Meerut Mavericks.
