Rain played spoilsport on Day 3 of the second Test between West Indies and India at the Queen’s Park Oval as only 67 overs were bowled. The hosts managed to cut India’s lead to 209 runs as they closed out the day at 229/5 with the visitors picking up four wickets in the entire day. However, one dismissal among them stood out, that of the skipper Kraigg Brathwaite. Brathwaite seemed set for a big score however he was clean bowled by India’s spin ace Ravichandran Ashwin with a peach of a delivery at the score of 75 off 235, including 5 boundaries and one maximum.
In the 73rd over of the West Indies innings, Ashwin managed to find some swing in the air with his fourth delivery. The ball dropped close to Brathwaite and turned sharply to the right. The West Indies skipper could not judge the ball’s trajectory as it managed to find the huge gap between his bat and pad and went on to hit his middle and off stump. The ball was dubbed by fans and experts as ‘every off-spinner’s dream delivery!’

India enjoy a lead of 209 runs at stumps, Day 3
Talking of the game, West Indies are still 209 runs behind with two days’ play remaining. On the other hand, the visitors need to wrap their innings as soon as possible so they could return to bat and pose a big total to allow them time to bowl them out again. Earlier, riding on Virat Kohli’s key knock of 121 on his 500th international game, India reached 438. They were further helped by handy half-centuries from Rohit Sharma, Yashasvi Jaiswal, Ravindra Jadeja, and Ravichandran Ashwin.
Talking of India’s bowling attack so far in the game, Ravindra Jadeja is leading the way with figures of 2/37 in 25 overs. While Jaydev Unadkat is on the hunt for his first scalp, Ravichandran Ashiwn, Mukesh Kumar and Mohammed Siraj have scalped one wicket each. Although by a narrow margin, India are ahead in the second Test at the end of Day 3.
