Season eight of the Pakistan Super League has provided plenty of exciting action so far, and Rashid Khan's spectacular helicopter shot against Islamabad United on Monday added more spice to it. Shaheen Afridi-led Lahore Qalandars registered a massive 110-run win over Shadab Khan-led Islamabad United after brilliant performances from Abdullah Shafique, David Wiese and Rashid Khan.
Afghanistan spin sensation, Rashid took two wickets and also contributed with the bat, scoring 18 off 12 balls, including two fours and a six. His only six of the match against Tom Curran in the 19th over of the innings was a superb helicopter shot that flew 99 meters over the rope. On the third ball of the over, Rashid smashed Curran over midwicket with a signature shot of former India captain MS Dhoni and sent the ball into the stands.

Twitter erupted with praise after witnessing the 25-year-old's stunning helicopter shot. While one user said Rashid is "the best T20 player right now", another said he has a better shot than Dhoni.

Rashid has been an integral part of the Afghanistan cricket team and provides the same level of the game in whichever league he plays. Earlier, Rashid had hit a similar helicopter shot in the Indian T20 league as well. But this time he sent it for a huge six which left the fans stunned. While playing for MI Cape Town in the SA20 League, he became the second bowler ever to take 500 wickets in T20s. West Indies all-rounder Dwayne Bravo is the only other cricketer to achieve this feat in the shortest format of the game. However, performances like these certainly make Rashid a recognized bowling all-rounder.
Talking about the match, it was Shafique's 24-ball 45 and Rashid Khan's 12-ball 18 that took Qalanders to 200 in the first innings. Chasing 201 runs, Islamabad were all out for 90 runs in 13.5 overs. Wiese took three wickets and was named player of the match while Rashid and Sikandar Raza picked two wickets each.
