Team India head coach Rahul Dravid marked his presence at the Chinnaswamy Stadium on April 23 to witness his former Indian Premier League teams face each other. Dravid, who played for Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) before joining Rajasthan Royals (RR), was an element of surprise in a thrilling encounter between the two teams on Sunday, where RCB had the last laugh as they won by 7 runs.

One of the greatest players in the history of the game, Dravid sat at the Rajasthan Royals camp with the team owners and injured RR bowler Prasidh Krishna to watch the game.

After the IPL, Team India has some important assignments, the first of which is the World Test Championship final against Australia in June at the Oval in London. Dravid's men will also aim for a successful campaign in the upcoming edition of the ODI World Cup in India later this year.

"Yeah, it's a lot more relaxing to watch it this way than to watch it as a coach. Obviously, you are lot more invested in the game as a coach. You are analysing everything," Dravid said in a video released by IPL.

Dravid was impressed with the performances of the youngsters in the ongoing tournament and said that he views the game from both a coach's and a fan's point of view.

"Obviously you have one eye as a fan but you also have one eye as a coach is open. You are always looking to see how the boys are doing who are part of the white-ball setup (for India). So some regular discussions among the coaches as well. When you see something happening we always text and keep messaging each other about stuff. Good to see some of the young kids come and perform really well," he said

The former India captain started his IPL journey with RCB in 2008 and ended his career with RR by playing in the final of the 2013 Champions League. The former RCB batter made his IPL debut at the same venue against Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the inaugural edition of the league.

"Just lovely to come here, watch it and have some fun. The family is here as well, lovely stadium and good vibes, good atmosphere. Two teams that I have played for as well. So it's nice, once in a while, to watch a game of cricket without thinking about it too much," the 50-year-old concluded.
