Roger Federer, the legend of tennis, bid adieu to his favourite sport on Saturday. Team Europe and Team World are competing in the Laver Cup 2022 and the Swiss Legend teamed up with Rafael Nadal for one last time. However, post the conclusion of the match the duo lost to Frances Tiafoe and Jack Sock, Rafael Nadal looked emotional as his rival bid farewell. 

Speaking of the match, Team World’s duo from America won the match with a score line of 4-6, 7-6(2), and 11-9. However, what caught the eye of the fans was the gesture from the Spaniard. Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer have been rivals for a long time, and one has to say that they showed their love for each other yesterday. 

Rafael Nadal looked emotional and was in tears as Roger Federer acknowledged the crowd after the match. The Swiss legend stood up and raised his hands amid a huge roar and cheers. The moment will be etched in our hearts forever and here we bring you the video:

It's been wonderful: Roger Federer

While the crowd looked unstoppable, Roger Federer silenced them with his emotional sign-off speech. The 41-year-old opined on his journey and thanked everyone who stood up for him right throughout his career. Moreover, Roger Federer went on to thank his team, comprising of Rafael Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Andy Murray and others. 

“It's been wonderful. And of course playing with Rafa, on the same team, having all the guys here and all the legends, Rocket , Stefan Edberg - thank you. It is amazing, it really is . I didn't want it to feel lonely out there. It felt lonely for a second when they told me to come out one more time, it didn't feel great. But to say goodbye in a team, I always felt I was a team player at heart,” Roger Federer said after the match in his sign-off speech. 

“Singles doesn't really do that a whole lot but I've had a team that travelled with me around the world. It's been amazing with them. Thanks to everybody who made it work for so many years. Of course being on a team with Andy , Thomas , Novak , Matteo , Cam , Stefanos , Rafa and Casper - and also the other team - you guys are unbelievable,” he concluded.
