Multan Sultans' Kieron Pollard took a stunning catch to dismiss Karachi Kings' Shoaib Malik in the ongoing Pakistan Super League 2023 encounter on Wednesday. It is not unusual for the 35-year-old to take such a sensational catch as he does it for every franchise league he plays in. Pollard's catch in this match proved crucial as the Kings came inched closer while chasing a big target.
Earlier, Sultans posted a mammoth score of 196 after skipper Mohammad Rizwan (110* off 64) scored a brilliant century. Kings, however, looked like taking the game away from Sultan when James Vince (75 off 34) opened fire. But after Vince's dismissal, the responsibility was on the middle-order batters and Kings captain Imad Wasim, who scored 46 off just 26 balls.
A big target always adds extra pressure on the chasing side, and the same happened here with Kings all-rounder Shoaib Malik as well. Malik tried to hit a slower ball for a boundary but didn't get the timing and elevation right. He ended up giving his wicket with a stunning catch by Pollard at long-on. However, even though it looked like the ball would fall in front of Pollard at one stage, the Caribbean star can not be underestimated as he moved quickly and took a sensational diving catch.
The former West Indies cricketer was seen so thrilled after taking the catch.

Malik has shown his power-hitting ability earlier, and with Imad also going well, the Kings looked like chasing the total at one point. But the big man Pollard's catch turned everything and gave the Kings their fourth loss in the tournament. Meanwhile, Multan Sultans have had a good run so far as they secured the top spot in the table with their fourth win in five games.
The West Indies all-rounder was a star player for the Mumbai franchise in the Indian T20 league. However, this time Mumbai will be without Pollard for the first time since 2010, and it may prove to be a challenge for the Rohit Sharma-led side.
