Netherlands and Pakistan locked horns in the ongoing 20-20 World Cup 2022 on October 30, Sunday and it was a one-sided affair dominated by Babar Azam and his men as one could expect. However, during the first innings, a scary incident took place in Perth stadium, leaving the fans puzzled.
Haris Rauf, who came up with a fiery bouncer against Netherlands batter Bas de Leede, stunned the crowd as the batter had to walk back to the dressing room after hurting himself. De Leede, who tried to hook the ball, suffered a cut right under his eye and made his way back unable to continue the innings.

Pakistan’s first breather in ongoing 20-20 World Cup
The Men in Green’s first-ever victory came against Netherlands on Sunday as the team won the match with almost 6 overs to spare. Chasing a target of 92, Babar and his men clinched their first-ever win in the ongoing epic tournament.
After restricting Netherlands to a lower total, Rauf, the Pakistani pacer, said that the pacers tried to bowl length balls and added that it worked in favour of the team. “We are satisfied with our bowling, we stuck to our plans today. We bowled full in the last game, but in this match we tried to bowl hard length and we found success doing so. The fans cheered us, that gave us a boost and it was quite evident in our performance today,” said the pacer after the first innings.
Shadab Khan, who bagged the Player of the Match award, said that the team would be happy with the win and added that everything came together well for the Men in Green during the low-score encounter.
“I just tried to bowl it at the stumps, that was my plan, just to keep it simple. I have bowled against few of their players in county cricket, so I know how they play. All our bowlers bowled well. The fast bowlers put pressure in the powerplay, and I took wickets because of that pressure built. We didn't finish the game well in the last couple of matches, but we managed to do it today,” Shadab said after the match.
